My favourite web pages :

It is a bit characteristic for me, that quite a lot of my favourite web pages
are dealing with roman catholic stuff,
although I am - as I already told - no Catholic.

The reason of this fact is my deep devotion to the Virgin Mary -
even being Non-Catholic, I am capable of feeling it with all my heart.

But there is another reason, and that is the fact, that until today
I could not find any Protestant website,
that is as beautiful as those created by Catholic People.

But first of all, I want to start with those sites, that are not religious in any way :

Earth as Art is a site of the NASA, that shows satellite-photos in a very high resolution.
The earth, seen 'from above' is called 'work of art'.

Meanwhile a second edition, 'Earth as Art 2' has started.

Les St. Clair
shows you in a phantastic manner the shrill and colourful world of fractals.
A fractal is a very interesting computer graphic, that is produced by iterative calculations with complex numbers using different formulas.

I occupied myself a bit with fractals a few years ago and I created some DOS-based fractal programs.
I think, within a few weeks I will place a download here offering my self-made fractal programs.
but before doing so, I have to translate the dialogues in the programs from German into English.

Treasures of the world, mankind's heritage
is the title of a telecast transmitted by the German
' 3 rd ' TV stations, that shows places of all
five continents, who are declared being world culture heritage by the UNESCO.
Good knowledge of the German language required.

Traci.de is especially interesting for webmasters, as it offers among other things an extensive JavaScript - archive.

The display of the time on the red button,
for example, is realized with JavaScript.
( German )

Dana Lea Moore
is an American artistic lady creating design for web pages.
For non profit homepages she is offering to use her designs as 'Linkware', that means, that one can use the designs, graphics, etc. free of charge. The only thing one has to do, is to place a link leading to her homepage.

Some of her designs are quite beautiful -
the others are a question of your personal taste.

And now the spiritual and religious websites :

Mc Nichol's Icons is a very interesting collection of Christian iones, predominantly illustrations showing Jesus and Mary.

Naturally the homepage of Lourdes cannot be missing in my link - collection.
During two years I visited this small city in the French part of the Pyt‚n‚es, where in 1858 the Virgin Mary appeared not less than 18 times to a miller's daughter, Bernadette Soubirous.
The sacred Virgin is honoured at this place as 'Immaculada Conceptiou', that means 'immaculate conception'.

Another place, that I visited myself, is Auroville.
That was already in 1980.
After having read a book with the title 'Auroville, the city of the future mankind', I visited this town within a trip througout the whole India.
In this town, that was founded by an Indian guru, Sri Aurobindo, people of all races and every nations should live together in peace and harmony, based on the integral yoga of Sri Aurobindo.

At least some pure Catholic websites :

A really wonderful, obviously private homepage
of a young woman from Norway.
She calls her site
Merete's peaceful corner of the world,
it is realized very attractive
and it contains itself
some quite interesting continuative links.

Image

This is also a beautiful private homepage,
created by a young woman,
who found her way to God
by having the disease of multiple sclerosis.
Her website 2hearts.net
is an elaborate designed homepage
with an abundance of prayers
for nearly all occasions
as well as a vast quantity
of extremely beautiful graphics.

Unfortunately
it doesn't any longer exist !

Also a rather official homepage,
that offers very extensive image-galleries.

Gallery 1 contains further links to other galleries.

If you try out one of my favourite websites, I hope, you will enjoy it like me !
